The sad state of Madhya Pradesh flood affected citizens

Over 3 lakh affected citizens in the Madhya Pradesh flood were helped by the authorities and civil volunteers. However, it was found out that in their ration and relief material, provided by the government, also contained stones and mud. This insensitive attitude either emerges from intentional neglect or unintentional carelessness, both equally guilty. The question of hygiene that arises is an obvious one. The other question is quite deeper: those responsible for this, did they make a genuine mistake?

Heavy rains and subsequent floods wreaked havoc across Madhya Pradesh. The state capital Bhopal had the maximum casualties with six deaths being reported in what is perhaps the heaviest rain witnessed in an entire decade. The authorities claim that they’ve rescued 5,000 people from different part of the state.

The presence of waste items in relief packets sent to the flood-affected victims is a mark of the government’s failure? What is the cause behind such callous behaviour on the part of authorities?
