Team Jan Ki Baat pays tribute to the Indian Police this Rakhi

Jan Ki Baat celebrated this year’s Rakhi with the Indian Police. We visited the Connaught Place Police Station for all the right reasons and surprised the police officers with Rakhis and laddoos instead of complaints and crimes. Initially they were a bit reluctant to get the Rakhi ceremony shot on camera due to the stringent protocols, however, they agreed being touched by the goodness of this gesture.

They shared how they had to be on duty in all weathers, seasons, joys and sorrows, occasions and festivals. They also shared that their sisters stay far off and might get offended if they don’t meet them. They sent a message to their sisters via Jan Ki Baat “If we are not able to make it on Rakhi, please don’t get offended that try to understand that we are on duty and serving the nation”.

The head Constable, Mohit Kumar added “Anyway we have found new sisters now who have come all the way to tie us Rakhi with their wishes”. The officers there said that they take the issue of women’s safety and security seriously and now after this “Rakhi gesture” by Jan Ki Baat, this issue has personalised relevance for them.
