No Government cleans garbage but the poor.

Saurav Kumar, Reporter, Jan Ki Baat investigated parts of Delhi,  with severe garbage problems.

This is a new episode in the series named ‘Kooda Tracker’, where different areas of Delhi with garbage problems will be covered.

The very first episode covered Himmat Garh, New Delhi. The2nd episode covered Lalita Part, Laxmi Nagar, East Delhi while this latest episode covered Vasant Kunj.

There was garbage thrown on the roads and cows all over the place.

The MCD promised of cleaning the place in 100 days but this the on ground reality.

“This area can never get cleaned. All of this garbage comes from the colony but they blame the slum people. It sinks a lot.”- Slum Resident

“The place stinks a lot. Dogs come and create problems for us.”

“If the place isn’t cleaned, diseases won’t spread. If diseases do not spread, how will the hospitals earn? This is like a well thought trap. Even after cleaning the area daily, people come and throw here.”

“No Government cleans garbage but the poor. Whether it is BJP, Congress, AAP they say ‘Garibi saaf Karo’, but what they do is clean out the poor.”

“I have been living here for the last 22 years, but the amount of garbage that can be seen today was not the situation before.”

“Even the hospitals are full of patients.”

“We have trouble in sleeping due to smell. Mosquitoes are all over.”

Sanitation is a major problem in many parts of Delhi. The issue is taken by every government which stands for elections. But we can see the output here live.

2nd October, the day our PM Narendra Modi launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is arriving in a week. And this is the ground situation.
