Mayawati’s Rally in Lucknow

Pradip Bhandari, the CEO and founder of Jan ki Baat interviewed a group of people in Mayawati’s rally in Lucknow where the people showed their disappointment with the Akhilesh Yadav government and talked about the unending corruption and goons in UP.

Samajwadi Party and Congress had got huge coverage in the wider media domain in the UP Elections 2017 while Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party has been treated as an underdog. It is the general trend that the law and order is under control under Behenji’s party. According to the BSP supporters, Akhilesh Yadav’s slogan ‘Kaam bolta hai’ is false and he has collaborated with Congress to gain Muslim votes. Behenji’s supporters are of the view that now they’ll come together and change the map of Uttar Pradesh by constituting the UP government with Dalits, Muslims and other communities. The Metro project was started by Behenji and somehow Akhilesh Yadav gave it his name tag. There’s also a hospital which was started by Behenji through NakulDev ji but Akhilesh Yadav took the credit of it. SP is of the opinion that they would cover 300 seats in the constituency. The BSP supporters say that SP and Congress’ Laptop and Tablet Project in 2012 was a flop and there are cases of faulty law and order since the goons are not under control and the ambulance arrives after a period of one hour while it should arrive within 10 mins. Unemployment and lack of education are also major factors.

Moreover, the BSP supporters alleged that Samajwadi Party is a party of Yadavs. The SP has taken Congress with it and has been running on four wheels but now this 4 wheeled vehical will not be functional. Instead, behenji’s party will function with its two wheels. The masses of UP said that they couldn’t let their sisters and daughters roam around the streets in UP in the evening under the current leadership. They resounded with the slogans like ‘UP ki hai ye pehechan, gundagardi- bhrastachar.’

BSP President Kumari Mayawati has served four terms as the Chief Minister of UP. BSP focuses on a platform of social change to improve the lives of the weakest strata of Indian society — the Bahujans or  Dalits, other Backward classes, and religious minorities. She was Chief Minister briefly in 1995 and again in 1997, then from 2002 to 2003 and from 2007 to 2012. It is said that whenever Mayawati’s party rules the state, it ensures the development of all the communities. Muslims don’t think that they are the vote bank of Congress or SP, rather they would vote for a party which represents them. If Akhilesh Yadav’s slogan ‘Kaam bolta hai’ was true, the SP would not have to make an alliance with Congress.
