Jan ki Baat: A responsible Journalism in India

Mukul Asher, a Professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and Chairman of the 5thHaryana State Finance Commission, left an audio message for the team of Jan Ki Baat to highlight the idea of journalism and underline the responsibility that comes with it. Professor Asher, taking into account what Jan Ki Baat aspires towards, spoke about the foundational concepts of integrity, trust and competence, elements whose significance in the domain of journalism is prized.

Congratulating Jan Ki Baat’s ability to keep the supply of newsworthy issues running, Asher talked of the Citizen Reporting Model that JKB incorporates in its reportage. The team of Jan Ki Baat, for Asher, “understands the media technologies and their adaptations.” Those wishing to see the return of responsible journalism and those who have a stake in the practices of democracy, must support entrepreneurial spirit of Jan Ki Baat.
