Here's why Mayawati should be given a chance this UPElections

The residents of Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, spoke to the Jan Ki Baat team to hint at which party they’re inclining towards, in the upcoming State elections. Akhilesh Yadav’s 2012 manifesto promises remain unfulfilled, according to one resident. This is an adequate reason to want the Bahujan Samaj Party to come back in power. During Mayawati’s rule, law and order were maintained and managed well, unlike the communal riots that were uncontrollable by the Akhilesh Yadav government. Corruption exists within every political unit but the BSP under Mayawati had the cowest percentage of corruption. When asked about the silence of Mayawati on SP and Akhilesh Yadav despite many of its members defecting to the SP, the man said it this was an internal matter and not for him to comment upon. About the Chief Ministerial candidature, he said that one would know when Mayawati starts rallying.

The UP Elections 2017 would prove itself as a battleground for a number of parties and for a number of reason. The poll-pound state would bear witness to the clash between 3 different, politically, ideologically as well as socially, parties: emergence of Akhilesh Yadav is one of the SP’s major concerns and the recent SP-Congress tie-up reveals this anxiety; the Bahujan Samaj Party led by Mayawati hopes to redeem its political future and rid itself off of charges of corruption; the BJP, too, hopes to capture the State’s seats to achieve its vision of a Congress-mukt India.

The UP Elections hold a lot in store for these camps, emblematic of the public mood. UP, population-wise and size-wise, would be a major victory for whichever party wins the Elections. Would this year see the BSP and its supreme Mayawati come back in power, with all its might?
