Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi is a fun filled thriller: Jan Ki Baat review

Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi

A good watch for a fun filled weekend

Rating: 3.5/5

Director Mudassar Aziz has delivered a movie that will make you smile and laugh during most of Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi ’s duration. The movie keeps the flavor of the previous movie in the way that the comedy moments are well placed and well executed. Particularly the ones that take place between Jimmy Sheirgill and Piyush Mishra.

Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi

The movie is set in China and actually the first half an hour it moves at a slow pace with some comedy moments thrown in , in fact you do start getting a feeling that has the director delivered a failed sequel? It is only when the new Happy played by Sonakshi reveals her reason to be in China that the movie starts to gather speed and evokes your interest. In fact from there on there is a reasonable twist every ten minutes to keep you interested.

Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi

From this point the movie collects emotional depth which is good enough to hold you and it is from this point that the love triangle of Bagga, Khushi and Happy starts unfolding.

The best part of Happy 2 is ofcourse the comedy moments and they come in at the right time. Whether through abbreviated names or Bagga’s insistence of how he was on the ghodi when tragedy struck again or when we discover the roots of Chang no am not telling you that let that be a spoiler. Happy Bhaag Jayegi is also driven on the charm and spontaneous acting of Sonakshi and she has done a commendable job. Sonakshi has been out of box office reckoning for sometime and given the audience reaction in this movie it seems this movie will finally get her some much needed good news.

Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi

The other character actors particularly Jassi Gill brings an earthy sincerity. You can catch a glimpse of the yeateryear charmer called Raja Bundela as Happy’s father – he has done a good job with his brief role.

Oh btw Bagga finally gets true love in this one !

To use a cliché keep your brain home and you will enjoy this one for sure !

My rating a 3.5 star as a fun filled entertainer .
