Football for the Nation - Interview with Babul Supriyo and Manoj Tiwari

In an exclusive interview of the Team by the Founder of Jan Ki Baat, Pradip Bhandari, the Parliamentarians spoke of Football for the Nation and their preparation for the event. Babul Supriyo, an MP from West Bengal, and Manoj Tiwari, an MP from North East Delhi, were quite enthusiastic about playing football. Mr Tiwari said that like Sanjeev Balyan, his knowledge about Kabbadi and gulli-danda was better than that of football but the determination was the same. Early in the morning, they had their practice sessions and by 8:30 they went back to their regular work. Mr Supriyo applauded the goal behind such a match and thanked the All-Star team for their cooperation. The game is about passion, it is being played for a cause which matters, he said.

The buzz about upcoming football match is worthy: it’s been called Football Ka Mahamuqabla, Football for the Nation, All Stars v/s India Parliament and given many other sensational titles. On 24th of July, Football for the Nation, is going to take place at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi, where celebrities like Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Abhishek Bachan, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Dino Morea, and others would play against some of the India’s biggest Parliamentarians like Babul Supriyo, Manoj Tiwari, Pravesh Sahib Singh Verma. Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has been announced as the Brand Ambassador of this event, ready to kick-off the match.

A charity match of this scale serves many purposes. It is associated with government initiatives, to support the noble cause of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaign. The match proceeds too were going to the same campaigns. The other aim of the event is to promote young blooming talent within India.
