Do You Know That Mudara Village In Tikamgarh Does Not Get Electricity Since 2006?

The team of Jan Ki Baat spoke to panic-stricken residents of Mudara Village in Tikamgarh. Upon being asked by the Founder of Jan Ki Baat, Pradip Bhandari, one of the residents revealed that the village has not had electricity since 2006. The village has also been forced to live sans water. Three schools within the villages are in such an abysmal condition since the children have to travel to faraway lands just for water.

Mudara village is located in Niwari Tehsil of Tikamgarh district in Madhya Pradesh, India. It is situated 5km away from sub-district headquarter Niwari and 85km away from district headquarter Tikamgarh. As per 2009 stats, Mudara village is also a gram panchayat. The total geographical area of village is 853.33 hectares. Mudara has a total population of 2,936 peoples. There are about 572 houses in Mudara village. Niwari is nearest town to Mudara which is approximately 5km away.

The neglected state of the village brings to us a set of shocking questions: how is it that the villagers have not been available to basic ameneties like electricity and water? Their survival, since 2006, without electricity begs the question: what is the cause behind their being subjected to the government’s neglect?
